The inspiration for this project comes from many sources; a few being, the china hutch of my great aunt, the curio cabinet of both my grandmother and my great-grandmother, as well as, fashion magazines. Over the years, with the passing of loved ones, I have collected a number of items once belonging to them or that was purchased in remembrance of them. These items are not me, but pieces of me; the me these individuals helped to create. Each and every one of the items are infused with love and memories. The idea to present these items by color comes from the fashion magazines and the way the editors present the promotion of the "in" color of the season. At some point it became clear that three items began to repeat within the work; floral, food items and a tiny bird, these elements present a touch of cohesion from one image to the next.
