Still life meet Constructed Reality

Well, this semester at school I've been working in strictly the still life genre. It has been a challenge to say

the least. A fellow classmate is doing some really awesome work in the Constructed Reality (CR) genre and it makes me wish I was creating images in that field. I needed to create an image that was a still life that only works well in color. Considering I like to work in black and white as a preference, I wasn't sure how I was going to make this one happen. My original idea was to merge two still life photos of an apple and make it look like it had been stitched together. I made the suggestion to my friend about what I was considering, she advised me that it may be too CR. I was inclined to agree with her. But with a laugh she also suggested I still create it on top of the assignment image. I'm happy with the product/fine art image I created this week which is the makeup and flower seen here. But I'm happy I got the apple idea out of my head and in image form. It was fun to construct something again out of nothing but an idea and imagination.

I'm thinking of turning the apple into a class workshop. A larger image can be found in the art portfolio.
