Week one (9/15) of my first semester of PH 100: FUNDAMENTALS OF PHOTOGRAPHY with Andrea Land

Create and post one image that clearly represents positive and negative space.

Discuss: Your Approach to "Positive/Negative" Space

What was your intention regarding positive and negative space in this assignment? Was narrative more important than form, or vice versa? Did you choose the negative or positive space to represent one or the other (content or form) or is there a blending of the two? Consider again here, what was the importance of choosing black-and-white or color when solving this assignment?

My intention was to go abstract with this assignment. My focus was on form over narrative. I went with black and white because I wanted the focus on the subject (the positive space) of the photo, which is of an old rusty, broken windmill.
